What fabric SHOULD I CHOOSE?
This is mostly a matter of preference; if you’re just looking for a heavy blanket to help you sleep, you’ll probably prefer a soft fleece or flannel fabric. Children with sensory issues can be quite specific in their preferences: fabrics that are satiny, fleecy, chenille, slightly rough, or nubby are all possibilities.
Color and pattern are also a matter of preference. Keep in mind that I make custom blankets and offer a very wide range of kid-appealing patterns and colors as well as adult-pleasing options.
What is the difference between chenille and minky fabric?
Chenille and Minky are the same polyester fabric. The difference is chenille has a longer fiber, so you can rub your fingers "through" the fabric, giving it a plush, soft feel. Minky has a shorter fiber, so you rub your fingers "on top" of the fibers, giving it a silky soft feel.
Can I wash and dry my weighted blanket?
Absolutely! All blankets are machine washable and dryable. Each blanket comes with special care instructions. I recomend cold wash and tumble low to dry.
